Our Vision Statement

A caring school which has high standards in all aspects of school life and intellectually stretches children of all abilities.

The Statement of Mission

St. John's School fosters academic and personal development in a caring and challenging environment so that each individual can achieve his or her full potential. As a Church School, Christian values are reflected both in worship and the daily life of the school.

The Aims of the School are:

1.   To help children develop enquiring minds, the ability to question and argue

rationally and to apply themselves to tasks.

2. To help children acquire understanding, knowledge and skills relevant to their future life.

3. To help children to become literate, numerate and to develop their

scientific and technological thinking and develop their artistic abilities.

4. To help children develop personal, moral and spiritual values, respect for religious values, and tolerance of other races, religions and ways of life.

5. To help children develop a respect for the environment and to understand the world in which they live.

6. To help children to become aware of the way in which the world has been shaped by events and by the actions and achievements of people of the past.

7. To help children develop confidence, self-respect and self-discipline.

8. To help children develop their physical skills and to encourage an awareness of health and personal well-being.

“St. John’s Church of

England Primary School has an

excellent ethos. All aspects of school life are of high quality and contribute considerably to pupils’ education.

The school provides very good value for money.”

(Ofsted Inspection Report. 1999)

“Relationships in the school are very good. All adults who work in the school are good role

models, showing care and

concern for the children and each other.”

(Section 23 Inspection Report, 1999)
